Bog Myrtle

Bog Myrtle (Myrica gale) is a plant that is native to the peat bogs of North West Europe and the Northern United States. It has traditionally been  used as an ingredient in brewing beer and, in Scotland, as a repellent to ward of the infamous highland midge.

As a traditional medicine Bog Myrtle has been used to treat wounds, acne and, taken internally, for gastric problems.

This soap has been made with Bog Myrtle that has been sustainably foraged on the island of Skye.

The olive oil has been infused with Bog Myrtle. I have also added steam extracted Bog Myrtle essential oil to add extra goodness.
